I went to the ceremony in December, it was all over very quickly the photos are there for my mum and dad to keep, I only did it for them really. It was nice we went up adn had tea and biscuits then we all went up and they spoke a little about VNs as a profession and how hard we all worked then we all had to line up and they handed us a mock certificate and our badges to be pictured with (our real certificates were on our seats) and as our names were called they took our picture with the president of RCVS then at the end we were able to go up and have individual photos and photos with family. We all went downstairs where more tea and wine was waiting.

It was a lovely day but we went out for a family lunch after which made the day more special.

Never went to the RCVS ceremony but am considering going for the LCGI ceremony this year... depends if I can get the time off work

I went when I qualified in 1996 and remember it for the fact I lived in the Midlands, drove down to London for the awards and then drove back as I had to do a late shift at work.. Such a rush.

I've since paid the £40 (and waited 5 weeks!) for a new one...

Am yet to find my old one...

l lost mine and got another one back then it was £10 within a couple of months it went up and l found the first one so someplace l have a spare badge

(can not remember where l have put the other one though )

If I pass my diploma might go again......

i was going to go to mine but it was when london got bombed and we got a bit nervous about going while it was all going wrong. i was so looking forward to it xx

I went to mine in 1999, had a great day out in London with my family. Still have the photos to remind me. I really enjoyed my day "in the sun" after all that hard slog, tears and putting up with stripey uniforms!

Also went to my diploma presentation at the RCVS and had a lovely day again

I went in 2007, was quite fancy do.

Have lost my red badge since! £40 they want for a new one!!

I got my badge and certificate at the ceremony, was okay but if I lived quite far away I don't think I'd have gone.

For your inspection if anyone doesn't have their badge it shouldn't matter too much providing the paperwork has been sent off for registration. They will recheck at a later date.

LOL fair enough. We are in process of becoming a Tier 2 RCVS practice and RVN's have to wear their badges but what happens when you get inspected if you haven't received yours yet? x

I went when I qualified way back in 2001!!! Still ahve the photos somewhere
