Part of the problem is we only have one scanner so it lives in the prep room and think

RE: Halo scanners

If people aren't currentoy regularly scanning and having the lost/found conversation I think using a Halo scanner might put the fear of God in them. You might need to put in staff training about how they handle it when it comes up as stolen.

Instead of halo I prefer sating I need to take the pet out back to scan, then can make the call with pet in my possession in case. However it's worth bearing in mind most that flag as stolen are brought in by innocents who have bough/been given them in good faith.

They come with USB cables and an install CD, and after the initial install, you are supposed to connect them to the PC daily which will update with the database and flag up if you have scanned any pets registered as missing using that scanner. Hope that helps!
