TUPE is a very complex law and big companys have a big department that coers it. This may help a bit. There is a lin on this site on TUPE think mid left part way down with factsheets etc.

Ah thanks Maisy! Now i know that i can say yes i have experienced it! Not all of us had contracts with our old employer so the new employer wrote some for us. Those people on the old contracts have stayed on them with no changes as far as i'm aware. Obviously changes have been made in the running of the practice but nothing too bad!

It means Transfer of Undertakings (and then something else that the P and E stands for!). But yes, its when another company will take over.

Hi,

I am sure that they have to honour your contract for a year, but dont quote me on that.

Thereafter they can treat you like a normal employee and give you 12/13?? weeks notice to any change in contract.
