The person who made it must have NO idea how the profession works.

actually there is already a single person low user - I know because I am on it maybe she should change to Anglian water . Sorry but I do think people are getting their knickers in a knot uneccessarily

Asking Yorkshire water to introduce a single person rate for water rates as she is a single person in the household. Water rates are based on the people living in the property - so if you are single - it is based on a single person usages. Or she could get a water meter??????

Flat rate fees wouldn't work for Vets, we all know that. It is the same for any business. Example - Macdonalds in London - Their prices are much higher than the Macdonalds in Derby for example. Silly people!

The original post by the lady who started the petition stated that it was an open group for people to comment with their thoughts both negative and positive for a "healthy debate" I guess she was expecting more people to defend her rather than a backlash from the profession! Trouble is, id imagine alot of people who are commenting are probably in the middle of a 48hr shift or something similar and so comments are emotionally charged more so like you say. In the time that I have been following the thread of comments (24hours), 49 people have signed the petition for the 79 extra people who have commented on the last post! It took a month for it to reach that many signatures in the first place. So it would seem the negative comments are fueling the petition to people (even if they are to afraid to enter into what should have been a "healthy debate")! Shame!

I hear what you are saying but the reality is the more people comment, the more exposure it will get, especially through facebook and there's more chance of people getting involved that otherwise wouldnt give it a second glance.

I know what has been said has offended people but sometimes the best action is a non reaction or to make a comment when you are less emotionally charged

I agree, some peoples comments are unfair and childish, but actually the majority of people are standing up for the whole profession and trying to educate her And others.

Imagine if the petition was signed by enough people, she would be putting a whole lot of people's jobs at risk! Shes offended a whole community of amazing, caring, hard working people!

the more comments people make, the more coverage it will get and the more it will be seen as the vet profession ganging up on her - it has the potential to get very nasty in the same way the pets mrsa forum did.
