We are looking to install a track along our ceiling so we can slide the xray machine along the full length of our Xray table. Ideally I'd like the machine to then hang on a pivoting arm, so we can move it in a complete circle and cover all

Re: Xray machine on a sliding track

Hmmmmmm think it's less than ideal to be putting expensive xray equipment on something that's been knocked up. Via also you have to remember how are you going to lock it in place once it's in the position. We have controls on the tube head that control up and down motion as side to side and front and back. I really think you need to rethink this and maybe have a word with you currently services your xray equipment to see if they have any options regards an upgrade/exchange

Re: Xray machine on a sliding track

Oh yeah and we have absolutely no budget for this, so it would be helpful if the guys could knock it up for about £30

Re: Xray machine on a sliding track

Thank's Nick, this is going to be something that our maintenance team create and build themselves (we have welders etc on-site). Obviously given that I piped up with the idea it's now down to me to draw the basic design!

We recently got rid of our clunky floating table as the height was too low and killing everyone's backs! It was the table we did all our procedures on. We now have an adjustable (height) table to suit our tiny, medium and tall vets, which is great but it is not able to move around at all. The foot of the column of this table is now stopping us getting our Xray machine stand under as the stand also has a big footprint, if that makes any sense. We looked at folding arms but they don't reach far enough for our table..

We do do a lot of horizontal beam work for tortoise x-rays and really I'd love a thing I could winch down to the correct height, then swing 360 all over the table and then pivot the whole head horizontally too. Not asking too much or anything!

Re: Xray machine on a sliding track

Just noticed you work in a zoo practice. We have a track mounted unit so we can do horizontal beam radiography as well table top work. You might be better with a floating table instead?? Might be cheaper than a track mounted unit.
