We are looking to see if this would be possible within our practice and it would be helpful if people wouldnt mind sharing there rota with us so we can see how

Re: 10 or 12 hour shifts rotas

Hi

Then we have a part timer who works on the days we have off, so there are always 3 VNs in. Well. That's how it supposed to work.

Re: 10 or 12 hour shifts rotas

Ours is very basic. We just have 4 nurses in each day (we have 5 all together) with everyone getting a different day off each week. Try to do it so everyone gets their turn for a friday so they get a long weekend but swop other days around to fit in with peoples plans.

Re: 10 or 12 hour shifts rotas

Thanks for your reply guys

We all do 8.30-7 4 days a week. Saves anyone having to work over on early finishes and always plenty off staff around all day. We love doing 4 day weeks

NIcky - Would it be possible to have a copy of your rota so we can see if something similar would be possible in our workplace?

We do 2 x 10-8pm a week, the rest of the week evens out so we get some shorter shifts.

Re: 10 or 12 hour shifts rotas

I used to work at a vets where I would work 9am - 7.30pm.

It was shared with another nurse who would work 8am - 1pm. There was always 2 nurses during the morning plus an ANA and just one nurse in the evening. It was a quiet branch so this was acceptable.

In the main branch, staff would work the same shifts or 10-6pm.

The 5 hour shift would make up for the 10 1/2 hours the previous day.
