I have a sore neck, quite a lot of the time. It crunches and aches. I was just wondering if I'm damaging myself by lifting too much.

I'm 4'11" and a healthy weight, I will

Re: Lifting dogs, max weight

I also have 15kg in my head but not sure why. I'm 5'4" 60kg but embarrassingly feeble and always feel more confident sharing lifting duties with someone.
I do pole fitness and aerial hoop and can easily lift a lot more than most in the practice. I'm only 5ft =) as long as you can lift that weight without straining anything and you're comfortable it should be fine

Re: Lifting dogs, max weight

Hiya,

I think the guidelines mention about 15kg max for a woman but to be honest it's really down to the sensible capacity of individual so this could be far less or indeed more. I always look for the easier answer e.g. a wheeled table or stretcher or another person to assist!

I am a petite 5'5 and took it on myself to learn how to lift heavy weights correctly so I think I can do more because of this. I also do pilates so my 'core' is strong. I can sensibly lift 25kg (more if I had to but consider that for emergency purposes only). However if you press me for the 'right' answer I'd go with the 15kg max specified in the guidelines...

Hope this helps.
