yes its not fun! we had 3 in over the weekend and we only have walk in kennel and 3 medium + dogs with parvo so 2 were squeezed into rather small collapsable cages and one of the cages had to go in our ultrasound room as iso is just not big enough.

we are all dreading any time some calls and mentions HGE!!

bristol is rife with parvo at the mo, i hope everyone isnt being hit as bad as us!

We use different coloured bedding for isolation (grey vet beds) however for parvo cases or anything highly infectious we use newspaper with kennel liners and towels if needed then this all gets thrown away. For washing any bedding it gets put in clinical waste bag and washed at 60 degrees with added Virkon tablets. You have my upmost sympathy with five parvo cases, I had seven once. Blimming hard work and heartbreaking too :-(

have you tried the local charity shops for towels and sheets etc - they will often pass them onto vets, or stick a notice up in the waiting room? 5 parvo cases :-( you have my sympathies

We normally do this, but we have had 5 Parvo cases in the last 2 weeks and physically do not have the bedding capacity to not wash it and reuse it.

We presently soak the bedding for 24 hours in trigene and then was it on high temperature in a washing machine

the only way out of isolation for isolation bedding is a yellow bag for disposal

Hi we only tend to use towels, then throw them away.
