Just seeing if anyone has done the City & Guilds exotics nursing course?
Do you have to be qualified to do it? What does it entail?
Thanks :D

Re: Exotics Course

Where did you see your exotics cases?

Thanks :D

Re: Exotics Course

Hi

I completed my exotics course last year. You don't need to work in an exotics practice but you need to see exotics,if I remember I think you need to have a minimum exotic caseload of 20%. It's a great course but very in depth so id definitely wait until you are qualified before starting the course ( you won't be able to take the exam until you are qualified anyway)

The course is made up of 4 units - birds, small mammals, reptiles and British wildlife. Each unit has 5 topics and you need to complete multiple choice questions and short answer questions on each topic. The course is 60hours cpd so you can imagine how much work is involved! The exams take place in London or Edinburgh and consists of 4 papers including multiple choice and a practical exam

Hope this helps

Re: Exotics Course

Hello Denise :)

Yeah I am an SVN, I start my 2nd year in a couple of weeks :D I was planning on waiting a while anyway, just wanted some info on it. I did send an email to the address on the website but that was about a week ago :/

Do you have to work in an exotics practice?

Thanks :D xx

Re: Exotics Course

Hi Kimmi-Rae, I am hoping to finish this course now in November. Yes I do think you have to be qualified. Are you an SVN? If so I would wait as a lot of studying and course work are required. :) hope that helps
