It's a very useful course, but a lot of work is involved. I second all the books Louise has suggested!

I completed and passed the ECC course in March this year and I found it extremely beneficial!

Just be prepared to allocate a good amount of time for revision and assignment writing.

The materials provided were very good but I would also recommend you get the following books!

> BSAVA guide to canine and feline emergency and critical care

> Practical emergency and critical care nursing Paul Aldridge & Louise O'Dwyer

> Anaesthesia and analgesia for veterinary nurses by Liz welch

However you are given heaps of lists for extra resources to help you along the way!

I would also recommend to subscribe to

Emergency and critical care small talk podcast (ECC small talk) on iTunes..... varied subjects and very informative!!!!!

Hi I started in October, it's a brilliant course, learnt loads. Worthwhile doing, tutor support is great. Definitely need to be dedicated and be organised with your time. Good luck.

Hi there,

I enrolled last April and I am due to finish my last module in December. The ECC course is very informative and I've found it helps me think and do things differently at work. All the BSAVA books have been very handy, especially the ECC one obviously. The course provides you with additional resources to look at
