My best caeser was a black lab had 13 pups it was 2am and I managed all on my own and it was my first ever caeser it still amazes me to this day that I coped with that having never seen a caeser before I dont think I could do it now... I would worry too much! I think about 8 would be my limit now!

I love doing ceasers, always get a buzz when i know theres one coming down! Great job satisfaction when the pups all survive and youve brought them into the world!! We have alot of ceasers, was called out to 2 at the weekend - a st bernard ( we have a st bernard breeder and theres always 1 of the many they have in pup) and a cute little cross breed whos owner didnt know it was pregnant and didnt realise the panting and strange behaviour was contractions??!!!

Usually on a weekend theres only a vet and me, amazed at how i sometimes manage with 8 or 9 pups and the mother on my own!!

My then boss used to have two 'special client' breeders who he allowed anywhere in the building they liked!!! used to drive us all up the walls!!!! (except those in the bosses pocket).

I'm not to go on about just thought I share this with everyone lol

You let breeders into the op room??????? We don't even let them stay cos they're too annoying!!

I havent done one in years. But remember them being a lot of fun!!!! Althou quite quite scary with the breeders in the op room standing over you!!!! What/why are you doing that!!! I'm really not keen on 'breeders'

We did one this morning on a GSD. She had uterine inertia, 7 out of 8 pups were dead. Probably THE worst caeser I have ever assisted with :( Only thing that saved the day was the fact she did have one to go home with!

Bulldog bitches are going for around £2000 each and dogs slightly less at £1800 my friend just had a little that (no suprises) she had to drop the price a couple of hundred pounds as noone would buy one.

Its the one thing you do not mind being called back in for. We had one Monday Eve (Was just on my way to belly-Dancing!) Bitch had been whelping all day already had 6 live pups. Mum had finally collapsed and we did ultra sound to discover one very tired pup with a weak heart beat. Following a quick op and a dose of dopram, I became the pround foster mum of a very large JRT bitch and it screamed loudly once it had been cleaned up.

Very satisfing.

Doesnt help my weight - need exercise!! Followed by wine!

The first one I did the bitch bled massively, went into cardiac arrest on the table, was resuscitated (cant spell) , then died overnight and the owner had to hand rear 6 labrador pups....so that doesn't make me as joyous over them as everyone else

Have had some nice ones since but the 1st ones always in the back of my mind!!

I love seeing the puppies come back for their 1st vaccs

I love them too!, is the only thing I dont mind be woken up for in middle of the night!!
