I have always found Hi-tec trainers suit my foot shape - I tend to buy boy's size 5 online as they are cheaper than ladies (less VAT!) - the last couple of pairs have been less than £15 each. I have pretty atrocious fallen arches so also wear substantial orthotic insoles to keep my feet in a more 'normal' position and this helps to reduce pain in my feet and hips. Clog style shoes are definitely no good for me too.

Re: footwear

I have to admit I had major problms finding comfy shoes until i found Sketchers, I love them and I would never look for anything else as long as I can get those, they last a long time and don't ned to be worn in - I'v bought them and done hectic 12 shifts the next few days wih no problems

Re: footwear

I started out wearing cheapo 'shoe zone' or similar highstreet store black shoes- the feeling of fallen arches killed me.

No luck with any of the local shoe shops so took a journey out to a Clarks shop today - nothing in my size in the comfy ones so now ordered some off the internet in the hope that they will be OK when they come.
I always struggle to find comfy, black, flat, urine/faeces/vomit/disinfectant resistant suitable shoes for work!! For the ast few years i've got them from Clarks, although more expensive than I would like to pay (usually £50 ish) they are really comfy and I can usually get 15 months out of them.

I have a couple of pairs of these in the wardrobe that have served me very well - and you can put them in the washer . Now the weather is on the turn again I suppose I had better look them out

I read it as the foot people (Cannot spell the word!) said it was the dogs.... Couldn't understand how dogs affected feet...

Now to answer your question (Once read right!) I wear just comfy black shoes... I tend to just look until I find something comfy, then buy them and just keep a stock at home. I then know what are comfy from trying them on.

I don't really get on with cloggs as I need something behind my heal as I cannot walk with my feet in the right position! so I prefere proper shoes but if you find something comfy, then I just aim for these again. I tend to get second hand charity shop ones (Ones that don't look very worn so still lots of life!) and to be honest, they will normally go bout 8-12months minimum. some many years longer and to be fair, it is normally the sole that breaks first from keep bending to the dogs on the floor!! I tend to find, I may get through more shoes than other people, but I have spent a lot less on them in the first place so longterm it is cheaper, and I find, personally, more comfy!

Good luck in finding the shoes... I'm off for some much needed sleep now after reading that post completely wrong!

Re: footwear

I've wock professional footwear (the clog style one). You can find it on this page - http://www.wockshoes.com/en .

It has Shock absorption, so it reduces the occurrence of micro lesions in tendons, bones and joints, and the feeling of tired legs, it's ergonomic, + it is closed on the upper side, which I find great considering the amount of times I've been peed on, or I've been to close to the animals when they vomit.

You can get the technical sheet for any of the models on that page .
