We had an english bull terrier blocked - bladder was literally full of stones - barely any room for urine!!

[/quote]

when I am back at work on Monday will take a picture of the monster bladder stone taken from a spaniel/jrt cross - it filled the whole bladder apart from a small cavity which held 15-20mls of urine. Palpating the abdomen was like palpating a brick.

Re: Rare Cases

have seen 2 cases in 30yrs

case 1 - pregnant Persian

case 2 DSH RTA with pelvic #

both young cats - the Persian blocked again a couple of times post kittening and breeder opted for PTS. The DSH as far as I know never blocked again and was still alive at 16yrs

Re: Rare Cases

We had an english bull terrier blocked - bladder was literally full of stones - barely any room for urine!!

Re: Rare Cases

A long time ago, when I was still working in New Zealand, we had a 12?yr old female abyssinian cat blocked - thought it was cystitis and were all gobsmacked when we xrayed her to find an "egg" in her bladder, for that is the only way I could describe this urolith...

One cystotomy later and we had our egg out - sadly I can't remember if we thought it was diet related, I'm fairly certain it was an oxalate though? Could be wrong, it was ( **counting on fingers..***) about 15 years ago! ;-)
