I've been invited to a interview for a head nurse/clinic manager role.
I have no managerial experience (and they know

Re: Career progression....

I agree with Helen, you need to start somewhere! The new practice knows you've never done this before so I'm sure they will be supportive - they've given you the job so they must think you're capable I think as long as you go in with confidence, are approachable and give it your best shot you've got nothing to lose - go for it

Re: Career progression....

Team leadership NVQ.

Re: Career progression....

Hiya

I've been a head nurse in day practice and now in ooh and the biggeat difference is the communication as uou don't work with everyone so most communication is done via emails or calls. Very different to working in day practice and seeing everyone on a daily basis. You have to start somewhere! . I'm assuming you'll be on a probationary period and in that time receive support. Also some people feel when they are head nursing they have to do everything but it is about delegation as you'll be doing enough managing. I hooe this is helpful

Head nursing and managing can be stressful at times but I love my job and wwouldn't be happy not head nursing now. Go for it and good luck!

Re: Career progression....

It's for a day practice, didn't realise there was a difference- I'm learning already! 😄

Re: Career progression....

Hiya.

Is this for day practice or an ooh company?
