Well I had a great day today, got to sit in on an operation where a cat was getting an eye removed and also castrated, also a wee dacshound getting about 6 teeth out, was shown how to empty anal glands and helped to scan a retriever with a possible tumor. Drew up the syringes for vaccinations and also helped with dispensing the medication.

I cant wait until I actually know what am doing and can really muck in, the vets and nurses were fantastic and explained everything they were doing and didnt mind all my questions.

I loved it

haha, thats a good idea I am really looking forward to it. When I got my letter of acceptance from them to train there, they said they were impressed with my enthusiasm, charisma and seemed dedicated to finding a tp to take me on I hope they still think that after tomorrow!!!

i know how you feel!!! i started a vet nurse assistant job on monday and i feel like a spare part most of the time, i was writing a discharge advice slip today and had to ask a vet how to spell hygiene as i couldnt remember, must of thought i was a retard!! lol

dont worry i volunteered at 6 different places, each one of them scary as im really shy but if you ask questions they prefer that or ask if you can do anything for them (they dont like people who just stand in the corner all day in silence)

I reckon you will be fine, think its great you are volunteering,shows youre keen and come September you wont feel so apprehensive coz you will have seen the place and the people.

We all get nervous-its totally understandable, (nervous is my middle name,!) but the people there will keep you right.
