I am currently considering a new route and have been thinking about the army and came on here to post looking for information about the Veterinary Technician Corps and I just found this post already started

I am an RVN, I'm 26, so I think I have the basic entry levels requires. I was just wondering, does anyone know what the basic training involves?

Re: Vet nurses in the army

I've looked into this and you must be qualified and be in training be the time you turn 33 years old. It is a regular job only not available as TA - only thing that may hold be back is i,m possibly going in for major abdominal surgery. They will also train you to be a military dog handler - which would be intersting - the role mainly involves looking after service dogs and horses. Good luck.

Re: Vet nurses in the army

https://www.army.mod.uk/rolefinder/role/216/veterinary-technician/

Re: Vet nurses in the army

The army are actively seeking RVNs. They used to train vet techs and now realise they should have RVNs, a number are re-training currently.

It would be worth looking at both routes, pre-army RVN or could the army trainee recruits?

Re: Vet nurses in the army

I looked into it once upon a time!
