When the nhs stops putting out all their BS that's caused the health problems they are going to be sued to kingdome come. I have about 30gram of carbs a day my energy comes from fat. This link for Diet Doctor explains how it works. I do not eat rice, pasta, bread, spuds and dont miss them much to be honest. i do not have food cravings like l used to.

Breakfast is couple of eggs and maybe some bacon if have it in, lunch is salad followed by a little container l use of mixed berries and single cream and dinner is veg and meat or fish...trying to eat more fish am a meat eater. I used to graze all day now l am not hungry until the actual meal no cravings.

I do not touch low fat products as they add sugar for taste. Shopping l look at items in the info panel that say 5g/100g carbohydrates. If it is over do l want it how much will l eat. All carbohydrates (carbs0 and starches break down to glucose and that cause the sugar cravings and munching etc. (wont go into the whys but take my word they are bad news) Go by the carbohydrates word not the breakdowns under it or you will confuse yourself. You will also be shocked at the amount of sugar in things. For chocolate l have lindt 90% but about 85% is ok.
Oh and Lidl and Aldi do lots of yogurt full fat low carb.

Sweden now put all their obese people and diabetics onto low carb high fat.

Plants under the ground are generally higher carb fruit are high carb berries are brilliant. This is a rough guide l used to kick start myself. If you do LCHF you need to drink plenty of water if you get constipation drink more water. Some folks have problems initially adjusting but it soon sorts. I am a very low carber about 30g a day but others do up to 100 or even but try not to 150+ grams a day. The lower you go the better for you.

A book you may want to read is Grain Brain by Dr Pearlmutter it explains things and after it you wont touch statins or gluten and will really want to low carb. Very informative he is an American neurologist who also became a Fellow of the American College of Nutritionists and is well respected.

Below is what l used to get me started l also intially weighed my food on a little digital scale so l could see amounts.

all fresh meat types - lamb, beef, pork, chicken, duck, turkey, goose, venison and other game;

all fish; oily fish is particularly good, eg tuna, mackerel, salmon. Eat until you’re satisfied, not stuffed.

It's basically a low-glycaemic index diet, eating fresh and unprocessed foods, with plenty of fat.

Eating from this food list, in the given quantities, will give you about 25 grams of carbohydrate per day. It’s then easy, with the help of one of the carb-counter books or google, to add on carbs up to the quantity you require. Different vegetables, for instance, the lower-carb fruits, or nuts as snacks...

Oh and loads of low carb recipes on the net

Re: Weight Loss / Insane

Wow well done!!
