ABC are a recognised awarding body, but in this instance it may be that ABC have reviewed Stonebridge's course and their procedures and have approved the course for certification, rather than it being a qualification developed by ABC. There isn't necessarily anything wrong with that as long as you acknowledge that this is a distance learning course and that the ABC certificate will be a formal document to say the student completed the course. Also, be aware of what Level 3 means - this is an indication of how "hard" the qualification is, it doesn't indicate how broad the courses is/the amount of study required. For example, you could do a level 3 course that takes two years full-time, or a level 3 course that is completed in a day.

Re: VCA level 3 course

She could do the Adult Literacy certificate at Level 2 which would top up the GCSE to a C grade.

Re: VCA level 3 course

any chance you could cast your eye over this as she is interested i think its a total waste of money. https://www.stonebridge.uk.com/course/veterinary-nursing

i think the level 2 anaesthetic assistant would be more use.

sadly she failed her english gcse at a d grade so can't get on to vn course. its a shame theres no other pathway into it. our vets want her to retake english again which won't go down well.

Re: VCA level 3 course

The original Veterinary Care Assistant course (written by CAW) is a Level 2 qualification and is accredited by City & Guilds. CAW is not affiliated with the Level 3 Veterinary Care Assistant course, so I can't comment on if it is any good or not; however, the L2 qualification has a practical component of 600 hours required, and I would suggest asking what practical component is involved in the Level 3 course before purchasing it.

Kind regards,
