Aww that's really cute! I love it when you manage to catch a pic that wasn't planned...i've got one of Jack i took (on my phone) of him running, both his back feet are in the air. In a very similar position to Bumble actually! I'll upload it to photobucket now and put it on here.

The last 'point and shoot' camera I had was a Nikon Coolpix. Thought it was a very good camera for macros, landscapes and portraits but was pretty hopeless on the whole for capturing the dogs on the move. The best I ever got was:

I have a DSLR now (love it!) but would recommend the Nikon Coolpix as a p&s camera

I also have a panasonic lumix! has an 18x optical zoom, have taken some very impressive pictures recently with it. Its pretty perfect for everyday stuff. If you plan to really get into photography you may be better off investing and getting a body with the various lenses and things. If I had some spare cash thats what I would be doing! Theres also a book called the book of digital photography which is very good and explains some of the technical terms and the more advanced functions of cameras, I found that really helpful. Have fun!
