If you are interested send your cv in with a covering letter, it shouldn't matter about your upcoming hols as I don't think the position will start for at least 4 weeks. The position is mainly cleaning kennels, washing, feeding animals and taking out to toilet, cleaning surgical instruments.

Re: is it much harder to get a veterinary nurse placement in the Midlands?

If it helps, I live in the south east and have been looking for a a position for nearly 9 months with no luck. I have 2 years experience working in veterinary practices but have only been offered one interview. I've also contacted every practice able to train students within a 70 mile radius and found no vacancies.

Re: is it much harder to get a veterinary nurse placement in the Midlands?

Thank you. Had no joy so did a work experience placement (even though I was in my 20's!) and eventually got a position as an animal care assistant before starting my training as a nurse. I think there are very little opportunities in the midlands and it is definitely a case of who you know! Good luck

Re: is it much harder to get a veterinary nurse placement in the Midlands?

I found there were more opportunities to train in the South-East. I had to move from the South-West to London for a placement.

Good luck hope you find a position!
