Apparently it is not that uncommon, I noticed Julia Roberts in the paper the other day in her bikini, and she has the same dent as me on her tummy which makes me think it has happened to her too. Hers is not as obvious as mine though

The thing is it's not like I had huge babies, or a big baby bump with either of them, one was 7lb1oz and the other 6lb 7 oz, hardly gigantic babies, and I had very small bumps with both.

It was sore, I would get pain right up the middle of my stomach, it was like an itch you could not scratch if that makes sense.

I remember the midwife examining my stomach after I had had the baby, and she said, I can just about touch your backbone I do think she was kidding, but she could pretty much shove her fingers into my stomach and they would dissappear into the abyss, as there was no muscle to give any resistance.

The muscle has healed obv now, but it did not repair properly and there is a degree of weakness that only a tummy tuck would repair.I still have a definite line where the original tear was.

I have to say as much as there are things i'd love to change about my body i could never bring myself to have cosmetic surgery i don't think! Watching some of it on tv makes me want to particularly liposuction and face lifts...urgh

And i DEF would not reveal my bits to the tv cameras!!! I have respect for the people who go on the program with the confidence to do it!

oooh i wasnt saying you were lol i know people in ive spoken to in the past who have and been size 14 and im like well i got them when i was a size 6 lol yeh ive got the silver ones you see them if you get a tan as they dont tan lol i got them on my boobs when i went on the pill they just balloooned!!!

lol, i wasn't saying I dont have them, just that they dont bother me, I have them on my tummy and the top of my legs, thankfully though they are the wee silver ones... my friend has them and it looks like a bonfire on her tummy.

anyone who says they dont have stretch marks are lying, everyone does, i have them on my legs but i dont mind as they fade, i got stretch marks from going from a size 6 to a size 10! so no ones safe lol

I dont have a prob with stretch marks, they dont bother me at all, but I do have a definite indentation where the muscle split and obv never healed properly.

After 2 pregnancies and my stomach muscles splitting both times, hell I will take a free tuck, as no amount of sit ups is ever gonna tighten them dont know if I could get my kit off on national tv though

i agree with you guys, no one was laughing at anyone, just the medical terms

but on the other hand i think if someone is going to go on tele with an embarrassing illness they have to be prepared for the fall out, i.e. discussion, possible laughing, as they do have the option to go to their normal docter i.e. with no camera's

last time i looked the NHS hadn't collapsed

not yet anyway
