Its early days and it was never going to be easy trying a new job after 20 yrs in vet nursing, need to give myself a break.

Everyone feels unsettled in a new job until they get the hang of it especially if it is something they have never done before. Dont you worry, you will find your feet.,

Thanks everyone. Thats me been away from vet nursing for over a month and so far I have to say I havent given it much thought. I think maybe Im expecting too much of myself considering Ive not done that many shifts. I wouldnt say I regret leaving vet nursing and I wouldnt say I hate what Im doing just now but I do feel unsettled..............

Hi Heather,

Dont let a silly wee girl get you down, I think aftere what you already said she may be a bit more tactful in future...... if she is not, tell me where you work and I will come up and she can serve me... the most difficult customer on the planet lolololol

Kidding aside, if she does it again tell her she is being immature and silly and unprofessional, and everyone can see it but her, tell her you are doing her a favour by pointing it out, so she does not make an *** of herself again.

Heather, personally I would not feel bad, after all, think of what she has been saying to you, and in front of customers.

The next time it happens, or indeed, before it does happen, take her to the one side and ask her if she has a problem with you. Tell her also, that you do not appreciate being undermined in front of customers. I would say that will do the trick.

You are doing fab at your new job, how are you feeling about it in general? Are you glad you decided to work there?

Thanks - if Im honest at times she does sound like a ditzy teen then shes all snappy. Today she did kinda shrink at having to deal with a group of older big burly german men,she didnt want to attend to them at all!

I agree. There is a nurse at work who despite her brash exterior & sniping at others behind backs, is lacking self-confidence. She pretends she has a great social-life & loads of friends, but we know this isn't true.

Don't take it to heart. People behave like that when there is nothing going on in their lives.

I dont know about being a rational person but in my experience sometimes people who act like they are over confident are actually quivering jellies and the only way they can think themselves up is to be others down. Maybe she isnt as confident as she appears and its just her way.
