Not had any joy from RCVS as what a qualified ANA can and can't do in practice, so need some help.

I was previously an ANA for one practice that asked me to do all nurse consults, including taking stitches out, microchipping and postop checks without any training (I wasn't a qualified ANA!) - in the end I refused as I thought it was wrong. I decided that if it was my pet having a post op check I wouldn't want anyone but a vet or qualified vet nurse to be doing it!

The practice I'm now training at however doesn't let nurses do consults until they are qualified- except admissions and discharges if necessary out of hours!

Would be really interested to see what other people say and have experienced though!
