If it's your first placement I wouldn't rush into buying a stethoscope as they are expensive! Your practice should have a few types and it's worth trying them out to see which one suits you best :) I would definitely recommend a fob watch and a small pocket sized notebook to write everything down, you'll be hit with a lot of information and there's no way you'll remember it all! I've been looking at stethoscopes, which brand and model would you recommend? I'm on a bit of a budget too but want something decent, willing to spend a decent amount though. Hope you can help!

Hi I would say definitely curved blunt ended scissors, a basic calculator and a watch with a second hand. Good luck with your placement !
