I have the same reaction to SBT's and boxers and similar coat type dogs, with longer haired dogs (springers, labs etc) I get a bunged up nose, itchy, swollen eyes, asthma gets really bad and sneezing....I now work in a cat clinic

Rabbits dont bother me so much, just their hair irritates my eyes a bit (I wear contacts so think the fine hair just gets caught in them?)

Me too!

I heard that if you're gonna be allergic to animals, you progress from Rabbit to Cat to Dog, so I guess that makes sense now, cos bunnies groom themselves quite a lot too & dogs don't do it that often really, well mine doesn't.. unless you count his OCD for licking his paws!

I was thinking ACP (the drug) so im definately not ACP hehe!

Is my dog allergy due to saliva? is it the same in dogs?

Thanks Cat's, see you are an ACP (awfully clever person) l am the non ACP. As l say it isnt something l ever thought about as it doesn't affect me, it has been filed in the little grey cells.

That is quite right about most allergies being down to cat saliva - probably worse cos cats lick themselves all over! There is a product called PetalCleanse that can be used on dogs & cats to alleviate the problem. Don't know how well it works though!
