After they have been used in kennels for urine sample patients washing then sterilising in autoclave?

Re: Karloff

one way I have found to wash them is a a 5 litre water container half full with water and your beads put the lid on and give it a bloody good shake, change the water a few times to make sure they are clean and then pour out through a sieve and let them dry. You might get a few that 'stick' inside the container but if you leave the container upside down as they dry out they are generally quite easy to recover.

another way which is a bit easier is to tip them into the leg of an old pair of tights and then wash them repeatedly in running water until you are satisfied they are clean. peg the tights on the line to let everything drain/dry and when they are dry is easy to tip them into an autoclave bag without losing any and then autoclave ready for use.

* dont let these go down the plughole unless you like clearing out the u bend when the sink gets blocked*

Re: Karloff

fab thanks everyone

Re: Karloff

Yes,

I have seen this done before; by autoclave or ethylene oxide or cold sterlisation techniques. Was only done if the cost to sterilise against cost of using a new bag was worth it though. No reported issues with test results on re-use.
