We get a retainer £11 for weeknight oncall £22 for a sat and a Sunday, if we get called in we charge our mileage and the time we walk in the door, if just inpatient checks then we get mileage. And paid for however long we are there! Hope it helps our mileage by the way is just 35p a mile

Practices vary - greatly!

I would consider your current 'total' annual salary (including an annualised (expected) total from the OOH work less the cost of your petrol) and then compare it to your previous practice's 'total' salary. This would also include other benefits such as discounted food, additional paid holiday days, paid CPD allowance etc.

If the annualised total differs to the -ve, then maybe decide to have a positively spun conversation with the boss about it. If it differes to the +ve, perhaps consider not to? I have found that sometimes it looks like I've lost out but when I've considerd the overall picture, I haven't...

Our wage is 'adjusted' to include OOH based on an average, so we get paid a flat rate wage and no extra for OOH, no matter how many times we come in or how long for. No allowance is made for petrol/mileage.

I've never been paid for inpatient checks, just flat fee if called out OOH, have worked in three different practices.
