Hoping for some opinions please.
I've been offered a place at a training practice (woooo hoooo!) but some colleges offer the day release course over 2 years and some over 3 years. Is the 2 year course much harder as it is cramming the same

Re: 2 year or 3 year course?

I am doing 2 year course (day release) it does seem to be getting on
top of a lot of people on my course, as some of the syllabus is learnt
via blended learning at home. As well as working full time, going to
college, revising everything you have learnt at college, then learning
new stuff in your own time at home. So far I have had 1 assignment in
1st year, and will have 3 or 4 bigger ones in 2nd year.

I worked in practice for about 15 months prior to going on the
course. If I had no experience in practice, I would maybe go for the 3
year course, as you will also be getting to grips with veterinary life!

Ultimately it's up to you, I am glad
I am doing 2 year so I can finish sooner, however I would also like to
not have other large units to learn at home too. I have also completed a degree, and had 2 part time jobs on the side. At the moment I am finding college harder as working in practice is so busy at the moment, I just get home and get into bed! Good luck :)

Re: 2 year or 3 year course?

I am currently doing the two year course and at the moment it doesn't seem too bad but I am only in first year. We have an assignment due pretty much every week but they're not very difficult (at least at the moment). Everyone in our practice has done the two year course and not found it too much of a strain.

Re: 2 year or 3 year course?

Thank you for your reply. This will be my first nurse job. I've studied for a degree previously but not at the same time as full time work. Does anyone doing the two year course wish they had done three years instead? Or vice versa?

Re: 2 year or 3 year course?

Have you got previous vet nurse experince or will this be your 1st vet nurse job? From what I've seen, I would advise the 3 year course especially if you have little previous experience.... there seems to be an incredible amount to do... college work, working full, long days, travelling to and from college, (and probably work ), assignments, exam study and getting to grips with veterinary life in general. It will go quickly but the

2 year course is incredbly hard :)
