Has anyone done this course with Oxford Uni? This is the nearest centre to me offering the course.
I am also applying to myerscough for the diploma and was wondering, how did you write the essay and not make it sound like a case log as is specifies that it is NOT a case log and I think mine might end up sounding that way!

Thanks

Re: Dip AVN

Thank you - that makes me feel so much better!
I didn't include nursing care plans (2 reasons...I had never used them before...I qualified years before they were considered....and we don't use them in practice)

basically they are just looking at your writing style at the moment, main thing is using 3rd person past tense all the time, try and include some research to back your ideas up, but don't worry too much about it.

they do mark it but it isn't a pass/fail thing on getting onto the course!

Re: Dip AVN

Hi-noticed that you're currently studying at Myerscough. I'm trying to get started on the application assignment 'Setting the standards for exemplary nursing care' but it's been a while since I had to write an essay so I'm struggling. I'm assuming they're wanting it to include care plans but I'm not sure how to structure it. Any tips you have would be very much appreciated! Thanks :-)

Re: Dip AVN

from what I have read it is brand new for oxford brookes but is based at Solihull College BUT I think that the DipAVN is only as part of the BSc where as with Harper and Myerscough you can do the DipAVN as a standalone and then top up to the BSc

There's currently no info on the modules they will offer....Myerscough and Harper offer slightly different modules to each other as well.

I'm currently in my 2nd year at Myerscough and it is hard work especially working full time but it will be worth it in the end!

Re: Dip AVN

I didnt even know they did it?
