Hi, I have the fact sheet and application form for the 24+ Loan but I'm still trying to find a training practice to take me on

. I'm finding hard to find a placement because alot of practices don't know about the loans. I think practices need to realise that people like myself over 24 that are willing to fund the level 3 veterinary nurse course are serious about hardwork and passionate about working with animals.

It's so frustrating because all I want to do is process in my career.

our student is applying for the 24+ loans so hopefully that might be useful. have you tried those melinda?

I am in the exact same position has your student. Im 32 ive completed my ANA, re sat my maths and English, but now I find out that when I go for interviews im told I cant get funding. I dont see our it is fair for us oldies that want to better our lifes. I know if a 20 your old went for a job and I went for the same one, they would give it to the 20 year old BBecause it's cheaper for the practice. I've seen it happen. I

just hope I haven't done all this for nothing! !

Hi Selena!

You've most likely got the choice between Learner Loans (the 24+ mentioned above in several links) and possibly apprenticeships. (Apprenticeships have a different funding pot from learner loans.)

I had this problem too at 30 as I already have a degree I get no funding so opted for the diploma instead of degree - either may i,ll still be a qualified nurse at the end of it regardless if its diploma or degree, not like i,m going to get paid any extra anyway.

Is there a cheaper college? We have a student in late twenties and receives part funding practice contribute i think in region of 2k per year. Not sure whether funding is area dependant? Our funding is through a company called DART in derbyshire area but we are west mids and still covered by them.

https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans/overview Hi. This is a link to the (24+) advanced learning loan. This may help, I'm not sure if it covers apprenticeships though. We have had several full time placement students apply for this.
