I am always sceptical of things that use "all natural ingredients" as a way of promoting its product. Just because its natural doesn't mean its safe or harmless.

Oooh, interesting! Many things to think about.....

Reduced income for veterinary practices? Maybe some companies wont be so keen.

Im assuming there will still be the issues such as behavioural aggression, urine marking etc?

That's right - apparently the other company didn't give support or training and it's more complicated than just 'grab and stab'.

I found out today that the exact same thing was launched in 2003 under a different name but was recalled after the dogs were having inflammed engorged testicles and the drug and company marketing it disappeared by 2005!

There is an interesting thread on FB in positive dog trainers. I'm looking for the trial work but it seems it can have serious side effects... Its an intra testicular injection..

I am somewhat sceptical myself but I am really hoping this works and we can hope to see fewer dogs in rescue and being euthanased and dare I say fewer dogs being shifted around different countries in the hope they will find a home somewhere

hmmm I'm a bit sceptical, not having seen any of the scientific research behind it I have a few questions about it before I fully embrace it.....for instance how do they know it is life long sterilisation? did they inject the product 15 years ago and monitor the dogs throughout their lifespan?

I also think there is a lot of blue sky thinking....full adoption in the US by 2020...yeah right, I'm sorry but I think there will always be a portion of stray/abandoned dogs....what about those cute puppies that are bought that then grow into big dogs and get kicked out.

I'm not saying it isn't a good thing I think it is if it works.....but also those dogs who receive it will still be susceptible to all the problems that un-neutered dogs are..BPH for one thing....then there is the other side of the coin....all the bitches that should get neutered while they are fit and healthy....will they still get neutered then or will people wait until they have a pyo etc cos there's not gonna be the risk of them getting caught....or they end up getting caught by that 0.4% of the dogs that got the injection between 3 and 10 months....or what about the older dogs who get it....they haven't actually put any stats up about them.

I will look further into it and see if I can dig up any actual scientific evidence based papers on it...they may satisfy my questions but until then I wil remain sceptical lol
