Yeh there was a really bad fire at PAC sometime last year so they could probably do with non veterinary help to rebuild the place.

I've volunteered in Thailand at the Wildlife Friends of Thailand (http://www.wfft.org/)

They do great work with all types of wildlife and it's not all Vet work needed. Totally recommend them.

There's also the Phanghan animal Care on Koh Phanghan (http://pacthailand.org/index.htm)

Not been but would love to go there!

Im sure alot of charities that you might volunteer with could find plenty of non veterinary work for your boyfriend to do.....handy man kind of jobs, i've worked in a few clinics overseas and there was always odd jobs that needed doing but never anyone around with time to do them!

I guess it depends where you want to go, does he scuba dive? In places like Asia and Central america there are always heaps of dive master jobs. If you go to NZ or Australia he could do fruit picking work......

You should register with www.wvs.org they have heaps of animal charities looking for volunteers.

You definitely have to go though, I was the best thing i did and i had an awesome time!

I would love to go to Borneo and help with the orangutangs, could you not take some time to organise it and try and get people to sponsor you? Have you got in touch with any overseas animal charities to see if they could use your help?
