Our OOH is covered by an external company who employ a vet to do on call. Something like 8% goes to the practice, and the use of the drugs etc.

I am on call 3 nights a week, and have been for 3 weeks now and not yet been called out. I don't get paid to be on call, but I get £25 for the inital call out, and £18/hr thereafter

I work in a practice with 1:2 rota week days and weekends on call, we are paid a retainer in our salary for being oncall in the week and at weekends and if called to the practice we are paid £10 per hour rounded up to the 15mins.

you would need to look at your individual figures eg total wage divdied by total hours worked including normal day shift plus total hours on call must equal more than minimum wage.

without knowing your exact figures, unless your bonus is really high then it looks like your employer is not aware of this either and technically could be breaking the law, which is a shame for most practices as this information has not been made available or clear yet employees are taking employers to tribunuals over it and winning
