As well as a VN I am a personal trainer and am promoting the StrongNotSkinny ethos and encouraging and empowering women to start strength training and lifting weights. Research suggests that while cardio machine usage at the gym is split equally

Re: New Years Resolution to get fit? The videos are free on YouTube so I can work out whenever I want...6am if I'm feeling crazy!

I wouldn't join a gym due to the cost but I don't think I would feel confident to use the weights, in the past I've only every seen muscle/meat head men in there so would be intimidated. Wish I could build up to that tho!

I don't worry at all about getting bulky, it's not possible unless you're training hours and hours and eating protein galore! Weights tone better than any other exercise I've tried and the burn lasts for days, which I love!

Without the luxury of a PT I don't know if I'm wobbling too much (and yes I'm aware that a bit of wobble is quite a good thing but still..) or holding things high enough or whatever. At least with the machines I *should* be working the muscles I actually want to, and holding everything at the correct angle etc..

Does that make any sense?

I'm not worried about "bulking up", always think people should be able to look in a mirror and assess how things are going and changes if they don't like the results!

Re: New Years Resolution to get fit?
I just want to tone up a bit and actually love the bussle of the gym as feel its easier to hide as those that wnat t show off do and the rest of us bustle around in the background and noone ever looks!

Re: New Years Resolution to get fit? We have pvt sessions simple l hate detest loath the noise people insist on having. Ste has tried to get me to agree to it l pointed out a kettlebell would do damage to his noise machine....Andy wisely zips it. We have peaceful QUIET sessions.... what is it with this thudding wracket everyone insists on.

He tried us on a boxing session Andy was fine as he used to do it. I hate it do not see the point of it wont waste my time...for some reason Ste felt l didnt enjoy it so we didnt do any more :-)

A vet friend sometimes joins our sessions she enjoys the boxing Is sensible enough to not comment over lack of noise....me thinks she was pre warned.

Ahh final part of your question no chance of me being muscle bound to old fat stubborn l want to get fit...well underway loose weight...have lost 16kg for various reasons l wont go ito am on a LCHF lifestyle dont use the word diet that implies short term body abuse.

Hate gyms to noisy no stable help expensive waste of money.

Re: New Years Resolution to get fit?
