Not sure if NFU or Pet plan best. Also is it always only 12 months?

Re: Pony insurance-any recommendations?

Thanks everyone! I only have him insured for vets fees through them as get my 3rd party cover separate - currently with membership of world horse welfare - you also get it with gold BHS cover. I find this cheaper and his covers me for any horse I am handling or riding - I pay £55ish per year for this. My Pet Plan I get vet staff discount and multi pet as dog insured with them as well.

There is a difference in cover - NFU will pay bedding costs etc up to a maximum amount if they need box rest etc, and will also cover transport costs to a hospital if needed - don't think Pet Plan do but their cover was a third of the price and are also very reliable. I think your quote can vary massively dependant on postcode, age of horse, type and what you are doing with it. All horse cover is 12 months only - unfortunately!!

Re: Pony insurance-any recommendations?

I've had my horse insured with NFU for the last 10 years - they've always been straight forward, fair and I've never had any problems with them. I've not had any experience of Pet Plan.

Re: Pony insurance-any recommendations?

Don't go near e and l
