They are from the Frodsham area, and we are based in Wigan area. Both were vaccinated 18 months ago.

Re: PARVO!!!

We use it for cases where the money is no object but some people won't pay and want PTS minute they know its parvo. We use it for 3 consecutive days. For very flat cases we have also used plasma - if they are looking flat do a haem blood on them and WBC will be through the floor - this is the only thing I have seen bring them back from that stage. Again cost is an issue though.

Re: PARVO!!!

Thanks Fiona

Re: PARVO!!!

All the puppies we had with parvo were from pesky pet shops, so the stupid people that bought them for €900 don't mind paying another 3 or 400€ for the interferon. Can´t remember the dose rate. We had a chihuahua recently that still died, but he was prob only about 6 wks old. Do yo use Interferon for parvo cases in Uk? We get quite a few cases of parvo here as we have the lovely pet shops that sell dogs from puppy farms in the czech republic (brilliant I know) and they all come over in the same shipment at 4 weeks old fully vaccinated with pet passport (no really, they do!) then 2 days after they've been bought they usually come up positive for parvo (brilliant) but we seem to be quite successful with the interferon treatment out of prob 8 cases we had 6 survive with no problems to date. Now all we need to do is stop the bloomin English buying the bloomin puppies from the Spanish pet shops! aaaarrrrggghhh!!

Re: PARVO!!!

Well little Bonnie died yesterday on route to the surgery.

Has it had primary course but missed the first year booster? In which case it might have not responded to the primary course due to persistent MDA (esp if 10 week finish).

IMHO it's just not worth the risk being late with the boosters is it? Bitch is still very poorly and was still having liquid faeces last night. Not that you could call it faeces. Poor poor dogs.

I've never done so much mopping in one day as I did yesterday. She was just leaking faeces The dog wasn't too bad but still pretty ill.
