we started charging few months ago and is £4.99 per item, mixed response from clients but most have been fine about it.

We charge now too, £10 +VAT. It always seems to be the posh folk that complain!

we started charging a couple of months ago and we have lots of very cross clients now, i have also taken a few calls from people price shopping prescription.

We charge £5 for each prescription, it has certainly dropped the number of peple asking for them but no-one has complained yet.

I think somewhere between £5 & £10 would be about right. Good idea too, to charge a lesser fee for a second prescription for the same animal written at the same time. I think its about time clients realised that if they want to take their business to internet sites & the like, then our fees will have to rise.

I believe we charge 12.63 for each prescription, inc VAT.

We charge £10 plus vat for first prescription and £5.00 plus vat for additional itmes. we have been charging since nov.
We actually posted a letter about the new charges to all our clients who were already asking for prescriptions and displayed a copy in recepetion.

We've been charging for a while now (since start of Nov methinks!) and we charge £10 plus VAT for a single item, and £15 plus VAT for a multiple one. We are in London, so the charging reflects 5 mins of the vet's time (i.e. one third of a consult fee)

We've had a few clients asking why we are 'suddenly' charging, but once we explain about the trial period of free prescriptions etc, most are understanding. We had one client say that we charge less than his GP for a private script

weve just started charging too, £5.50, clients are not too happy either!!
