She has been use to performing tasks such as IVs, blood sampling and anaesthetic monitoring, as well as general nursing, preparing medications etc.
Obviously she is not a Vet Nurse and I was wondering

Re: Vet Tech

If she's non licenced vet tech doesn't that mean she has no qualifications as vet techs have to be licenced in America. (The RCVS used to have a list on their website of overseas qualifications that were deemed equivalent to the UK VN qual)

Find out what time the RCVS open in the morning and phone them directly 3 minutes after that and speak to them, get some kind of actual service from all the money we pay them every year!!! Get the decision directly from them. Safest thing to do (Oh, and write down all the details of conversation and name of person you spoke with, etc etc and then keep this document in the safe or something, that way you'll be covered if they ever try to tell you you're doing wrong

Re: Vet Tech

Thanks for posting, did you find out (or can anyone else tell me) if this is definitely right?

Re: Vet Tech

As far as I know, and I need to double check if I still have the info from college last year, the only thing she will be able to do is place a microchip. As bloods/ivs etc are still classed as schedule 3 procedures. I will see if I still have the info but I'm pretty sure that this is the case.
