Just trying to get organised at the mo. What books would be useful?
So far I have the bsava textbook, the Victoria aspinall one, orpit and Welsh handbook and the anatomy one by Victoria

Re: Book recommendations

The calculations for veterinary nurses book is really useful for all the calculations you'll do during your training...it's helped me train several students over the last few years. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0632054980/ref=redir_mdp_mobile

Victoria aspinall has written/edited quite a few good books. I particularly like the essentials of anatomy and physiology pocket handbook as it has really good revision hints and techniques in it as well as easy to understand facts for each body system. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0750688025

Looks to me like you have a good range of books to get you started. If you want more ideas it might be worth contacting your college as they will most likely provide you with a suggested reading list when you start.

Good luck with your course :)

During my training I also found it useful to have access to a formulary and a book of surgical instruments.

Good luck!
