We've had a few of these, worked last year when letters went out but now were coming round to annual checks and not working so we've kept a log of all patients from the faulty batch and are being extra vigilant/ rechipping if going abroad.

We had a dog in for xray for HD scheme this week and couldn't find her chip. It was a virbac one I think that was on the faulty batch list. It was working fine last year when the letter came out and it was checked but has failed now. We just had to re-chip the dog.

Re: microchips

[quote user="WTF_dinosaur"]

Luckily the chip company had a record of who had purchased them and even better that they had been input on the computer system so owners could be found

Re: microchips

We've had a few of these, worked last year when letters went out but now were coming round to annual checks and not working so we've kept a log of all patients from the faulty batch and are being extra vigilant/ rechipping if going abroad.
