We recently had a pet detect one that had migrated to te chest of the dog, which we remived and reolaced with a tracer. After rking for a microchipping company make sure the chips have antimigratory covering.

We had a dog in for xray for HD scheme this week and couldn't find her chip. It was a virbac one I think that was on the faulty batch list. It was working fine last year when the letter came out and it was checked but has failed now. We just had to re-chip the dog.

I've seen one fail (at least we assume it did. Scanned it in the plastic and it worked, implanted it in the dog and it didn't. Couldn't find the chip anywhere to suggest it had fallen out so not really sure what happened

Only seen one that didn't work but have seen a few that haven't even been registered by the implanter!!

Luckily the chip company had a record of who had purchased them and even better that they had been input on the computer system so owners could be found
