As far as the RCVS goes you dont have to log it in a controlled drugs register but we do log stock in and obviously log the opened date.....just keeps a track of usage :-)

It's not a legal requirement though some practices do log it, same as with ketamine. We keep a very basic log- what arrives into the practice and what is moved up from the safe to locked drug cupboard so we always have a log of what is in the safe and can see if we have a big, unusual jump in usage. We did have a problem with a locum nurse helping herself though so we're probably more careful than most practice!

they actually contain just over a ml...but unless you use an insulin syringe you lose some in the needle hub (usually about 0.1ml!!)

its not required to log it.
