Heather, you will be fine with your new job. I think it is very scarey starting a new job and Im sure everyone else will agree! But I know you will do just grand! I am trying for a new job at the moment and it doesnt matter how many interviews I do, I still get really really nervous!!

Hey Heather,

you will be absolutely fine

Dont be going doubting yourself now. My guess is you are completely exhausted from the lambing plus if you have the dreaded hormonal monthly thingy, then that always blows things out of all proportion.

You have been practicising as a QVN for a lot of years now. In my opinion, if you can do that for so long, then your new job will be no problem for you and you will be a dab hand at it in no time!

You will definintely be fine, I am sure. Now, what you need to do is to have a nice day or even a half day to yourself before you start, away from the lambing and have a bit of me time. It will do wonders for you!!

Sorry no tips on the nerves, i have been a bag of nerves in the jobs i have started (even the one i'm currently in, and i'd done a 3 month work placement there about a year before i started so knew them all really well and got on with them all so i was just being silly!)!

Thanks Sandra, its definately fear of the unknown. Think my confidence has kind of dwindled lately too.

Any tips on how not to cack my pants on my first day and stop being so nervous would be greatfully received.

Heather, you are going to be great, everyone feels like you when starting a new job, it's normal to feel like that. It's the fear of the unknown

When I first met you ,you were the most welcoming person, and very witty,and you still are, you have me in kinks of laughter, all the time (Glaswegian pilots ring a bell??) and I am sure that will come across in bucket loads in your new job.

Also every job has a probationary period, again thats normal, try not to worry too much about that.
