I know that lay people can PD scan livestock, but I didn't think they could do pets? Surely its diagnosing?

Re: Can lay people pregnancy scan pets?

I know of a couple of lay people who PD dogs and cats they do it all the time and one is really good but that is diagnosing, if an RVN did it and told the client there were puppies if the puppies were absorbed they would complain about the RVN and could end badly couldn't it. Although Nurses can do the ultrasound show the picture to the vet and they can say it is and then you can tell the client can't you. Maybe one day the nurses will do more ultrasounds take photos and show the vet for a diagnosis like we do with x-rays

Re: Can lay people pregnancy scan pets?

correct - because we are not lay people

Re: Can lay people pregnancy scan pets?

I bet we can't though.

Re: Can lay people pregnancy scan pets?

one of the breeders in my area does this - as far as I am aware there is nothing to stop anybody doing it?
