This is one of the reasons unemployment is high - the careers advice most jobseekers get is absolutely rubbish.

Leave VN off your CV?! How is being a VN not a transferable skill?! What absolute idiots. This makes me so angry, how are we meant to be recognised as a profession when people do that. Is Cardiff Bay too out for you? You could try calling Summercourt vets in Caerphilly, they're newly opened and might need people? I'm really sorry you're having such a difficult time finding a job.

I am in the other end of South Wales, sort of Caerphilly area, so Swansea a bit far for part time. Wouldn't pay the petrol cost!

Looking for North Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil (A470 corridor).

Been a few years looking now.

I went to the careers office but they said I would have to retrain to a 'recognised qualification' like hairdressing or office work!

They said I had no 'transferable skills'. Told me to leave VN off my CV. What a joke. Bit depressing really.

Oh well, the search continues.

I had this trouble! Check the jobs section on here, there's a practice in swansea looking as they messaged me. I was looking for a job in south wales for ages after qualifying and found one after ages of searching. My old practice may be looking for a nurse if you want to PM me i can keep you updated :)
