I'm currently looking into locuming as I'm not happy where I am and love the idea of moving around. The thing is I only qualified September 2012 and have been employed as a permanent RVN since November. I qualified via the degree route and

Re: locum work, how much experience is needed?

Honesty is best policy. I love locuming and found I was inundated with work within 24 hours of signing to just one agency! Most practices feedback to the agencies and word of mouth is worth more than any amount of experience. If you're confident you won't have a problem.

Re: locum work, how much experience is needed?

Seems to be lots of locum work about at the moment.

Re: locum work, how much experience is needed?

Hiya, I think as long as you're honest with practices about when you qualified and what you are and aren't happy doing then you shouldn't have too much of a problem. I qualified around same time as you, also via degree, had a few permanent jobs that didn't quite work out (one practice was quite far away and found the travelling harder than I thought I would and second it was mutually agreed that it just wasn't working out) and started locuming around February time. I've not had too much of a problem finding work (granted I've not actually moved on from the practice I started out at but have had plenty of details of vacancies emailed to me that I would happily have followed up had they decided they no longer needed me at any point)
