Who collects your tiger stripe bags (is it the people that collected your household waste or your clinical waste)? thanks

Hi Hannah.... our Tiger bags are collected weekly along with bodies by a pet crem... they also collect our clinical waste stuff but this is only collected once every 2 wks because they charge us £10 extra and have to issue a kind of certificate. Household waste is just collected by the council

Re: waste disposal
This was my boss's thinking...you can't guarentee all urine and faeces isnt infectious, so he'd rather have everything in one bag and incinerated to save us the risk of putting infectious waste in a non-infectious tiger bag....and saves having lots of different coloured confusing bags around
I find the new regulations a little confusing. Yes tiger bags should be used to dispose of non infectious offensive waste - that means that urine and faeces should be put in here providing the vet is confident its not infectious. Well you cannot be 100% sure really can you even with a healthy stray cat you cannot unless to test the faeces be sure it isnt infectious so from that i would gather that clinical waste bags (orange or yellow) should be used.

We are using tiger bags as advised by our waste collection agency but am not sure if it is sufficient.

All body parts/bloods etc we are placing in the orange bags and storing in the freezer.

I might add that our crematorium has told us that tiger bags are cheaper to dispose of as they go to a rubbish dump. Clinical waste is incinerated.

Daft thing it all should be incinerated personally.

Re: waste disposal

Our clinical waste bags are yellow We just use those for all infectious/blood/dressings/kennel waste etc. They are collected and incinerated by pet crem company in Thirsk.
