Hey, I locummed a while ago in Australia and currently work in England. Wages vary dependant on area and also if you are permanent staff or locum (locums tend to be paid more) it can be as low as minimum wage £6.20 per hour up to £15 maybe £20 in parts of london or for antisocial hours. I believe the Australian certificate is accepted in the UK but I would double check with the RCVS just to be sure. Over here there are a shortage of nurses and I have a lot of friends who are locums who never seem to struggle for work and if you are prepared to move around you shouldn't struggle to find work. I think over here it depends on the practice as to how much nurses are allowed to do but at most I think we are allowed to do more than I was allowed to do over in Oz however most Aussie nurses I have met have enjoyed the extra challenges and haven't struggled with working over here
