We have a locum vet with us at the moment and she is rude to nearly all the staff, asks us what practice protocol is and then disregards it! Complains about our practice protocol in front of clients and then when asked not to speak about it in

Re: Locum Vet

You have my utter sympathy! Its amazing how much disruption one person can cause in such a short time! Its beyond me why someone thinks they can just come in and steamroller over practice protocols, have everyone at their beck and call and be rude and lazy at the same time! Unfortunately, in the past we have had to tell someone to pack their bags and leave - immediately! We have had to tell a particular agency re a persons unacceptable behaviour and to never send them again. Yes, the problem of a branch being covered too is difficult, but it was surprising how we managed when we all pulled together and agreed that we had had a lucky escape! One the other hand, we have had some lovely locums who we would love to have back, who have been so grateful for our help while they were here and can they come permanently :) We felt really bad that things were going wrong while the boss was away but at the same time the reputation of the practice was at stake. If you get a great locum perhaps its a good idea to book them for the same time next year??

Re: Locum Vet

Yes she did come through an agency, I think our manager may have something to say to them!! Unfortunately we have a smaller branch surgery that also needs covering so can't cope with just one vet :-( .

Did she come from an agency?

What does the other vet think?

As a practice owner I would be worried she is being detrimental to the business, can the other vet cope if she goes?
