It seems to be really paltable too which is a bonus. No complaints from owners as yet, but it's early days still

Re: hills metabolic

Yeah see what works for your pets.
Hills do a great app on their website for the metabolic food so tells u exactly how much your pet shud be loosing and have people on the phone u can call for advice.
I think r/d is a good diet but its only meant to be for short term use until the weight goal is reached then its a case of maintaining them on another food, whereas metabolic they can be on it for life.
I have also had feed back from clients saying their animals are gassy on r/d, as metabolic is still new I haven't had much feed back but can keep you posted :D

Re: hills metabolic

thanks for the info. Feeding as a sole diet could be kind of difficult as I have two cats and Mo tends to hoover up what Jasper leaves, so far he has lost around 150g on r/d + extras (we cut down on the amount of r/d if he has eaten anything he shouldnt). Maybe I should stick with the r/d for now? palatability isnt a problem luckily this cat will eat anything except peas

From the people who are using it has any of your clients reported that it has made their pets a bit gassy? - I have noticed when mine is on r/d he can be a bit offensive and wondered if this might improve on the metabolic?

oh hell guess I will just have to try it

Re: hills metabolic

My friend has her cat on it the dry kibble (the cat is blind) she loves the food and has so far lost 200grams in 3weeks. So seems to be working well for her. But it's just a case of ensuring no other food is given along side

Just ensuring they dont eat anything else is the problem i think most people find

Re: hills metabolic

What's the difference when compared to R/D? My incredibly obese ginger cat lost weight really nicely on R/D years ago (he's 19 now). We've not had the rep round about Metabolic yet, although he came and talked to us about the new thyroid diet last month - has anyone had good results with that yet?

However, there might be compliance issues.... We have also had a couple of tins of feline knocking about and so far 3 out of 3 staff cats have declined to get excited about the taste of it. I have put another 2 clients' cats on it but no results so far.

It's early days so difficult to tell, but I have to confess I am really disappointed that the cocker hasn't dropped any weight yet - at the last check I tried to reinforce the "no treats, no titbits" advice, but as I say, who knows what else the dog is getting at home?

Re: hills metabolic

On a similar thread..does anyone have anything positive to say about satiety diets?
