I use face masks 2-3 times a week. Ones I regularly use which I like are; The Body Shops tea tree mask, Origins 'out of trouble' mask and a fresh face mask from Lush, Cupcake; which is excellent for absorbing all the yucky oil and grease. I also recently purchased 'mask of magnaminty' from Lush, as I read some good reviews. Anyone here tried it?

As for cleansers, I find Ole Henriksens aloe vera deep cleansing gel quite good. It's refreshing and smells quite 'antibacterial-y' (I think due to eucalyptus and other such things) and it doesn't dry skin out. Dermalogica's clay cleanser looks good as well, I may try that one next!

I have never used moisturiser up until recently because my skin just gets too oily & spotty, but I am finding Lushs' 'vanishing' cream pretty good and it smells lovely!

I'm not that fussy with toner, currently using Tescos' own brand aimed at trouble skin.

Re: facial care

My skin is a mess right now- always gets recked at lambing time- dust from hay n straw and iodine.
I think the facial peels are better suited to people with scarring/ fine lines. I have never tried one as I am a bit scared and it needs to be done by a professional to avoid complications. you can buy lesser strength stuff to use at home though,

I used the Soap & Glory as a once a week deep clean as opposed to a facial peel to be honest, its like deep exfoliating for me. Personally I have found my skin responds more to a facial by a good therapist. I think its more the massage skills that are important rather than the range of products they use, but elemis and dermalogica are good ones, and neals yard if you live near one of their shops. You can then pick up some tips to use at home. I have also tried the N Lite laser therapy which I know some people have great results from but didn't really work for me and was expensive. Philosophys microdermabrasion peel is amazing and is my favourite 'at home' product but is about £50 a set I think.. works miracles though. I havn't tried the soap and glory one but imight give it a go now... also the daily facial pads (neutrogena) are really good for getting rid of dead skin cells. I have also found the best moisturiser is a bit of olay fluid or a serum (l'oreal do a nice one) don't be scared by something that sounds like its going to be oily as it can often help rebalance the skin. Sometimes I think I know more about this stuff than vet nursing

Re: facial care

Another to try if you havn't already is benzoyl peroxide cream, you can get it from chemists and its fantastic for clearing skin without resorting to antibiotics. Just depends how you feel about putting chemicals on your skin I guess. If you use the lower strength it shouldn't dry your skin out too much. If you only get the odd spot try the zeno clearing device, its like a hand held machine that heats up and (in theory) kills the spot bacteria before they get huge. Works for me but again pretty expensive. Salon facials are also really good and destressing, great if you can afford it, I don't often have the spare cash so give myself one using neals yard stuff. Don't forget if you're really suffering go see a sympathetic doctor who might be able to sort you out. I find even though I am now an expert in make up a 'bad skin day' can be really hard on your confidence.

Re: facial care

[quote user="STRVN"]
